Malaibar Foundation announces opening of internship application for students and early research fellows interested in learning the fundamentals of intercultural dialogue, developing communication and public information skills and participating in the organisation of different academic, entrepreneurial and cultural events at different major cities in India. This internship program will enable to take part in major activities of the Foundation in association with various important organs of Markaz Knowledge City.

Markaz Knowledge City Students Internship Programs will be known for quality mentorship and deep commitment towards educating public about the advanced learning systems and pedagogy, global education, scientific methods in modern academia, strategy development for community empowerment and ethical educational entrepreneurship. The goal of the program is to develop an informed and responsible workforce committed to minority development in the country with proper strategic planning and execution.

About Malaibar Foundation

Malaibar Foundation For Research And Development is an Advance Research and Development, Training and Consultancy body established as a non-profit institution incorporated under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013 in Markaz Knowledge City, Calicut, India.  It is an independent organisation working in the objectives of research, training and consultancy in the advancement of knowledge production and re-production. Malaibar Foundation envisioned to foster the advanced learning, which is mainly helps to develop the knowledge tradition that supports the long term minority empowerment. Through this we are being in the part of nation building with bringing global educational trends in all subjects with more human values. Along with a centre for excellence, it is aiming to build an interdisciplinary library and information centre, dialogue hall, Museum to compile all traditional heritage of the Malaibar region which includes all manuscripts of the region.

Responsibilities

  • Reaching out to prominent community leaders, opinion-makers, academics, diplomats, civil leaders at different parts of the country.
  • Maintain a weekly diary and update to mentor and the concerned authority of the foundation.
  • Making presentation about particular assigned topic under the guidance of mentors in different regions. 
  • Enhance the contact database.
  • Attending Conference, Seminars and Cultural events.
  • Organising Public events.
  • Conducting interviews.
  • Preparing public information notices and communication media.
  • Visiting major organisations and institutions across the region.
  • While attending events and conferences, interns must follow the professional and respectful manner of  Markaz knowledge City.

Mentorship

  • The internship works will be guided by a mentor who will monitor the weekly tasks of the interns and check the assignments they are working on.
  • He/she will provide necessary tips required for maintaining weekly diary and organising public events.
  • He/she will make sure that the interns are benefiting to the best of their capabilities from the program.
  • The interns will have the opportunity to give feedback to the mentor

Who can Apply?

Candidates with qualities/attributes mentioned below are highly preferred:

  • Student at any university or College with minimum Pursuing a Bachelor Degree.
  • Impressive Communication skills and high confidence in event organising.
  • Good report writing skills
  • Organisational and time management skills
  • Team building skills
  • Fluency in the English/Urdu/Tamil/Kannada/Hindi language
  • Creative, flexible and pro-active attitude
  • Motivational skills
  • Strong interest in the inter-cultural interaction.
  • Proficiency in basic computer programs.

Duration of internship
The duration of the Internship Program will be four weeks. It will start from 1st May 2019 and will continue till 31st May 2019. Every intern must spend at least 40 hours in a week under the direct mentorship of the foundation. 

Financial Assistance
Every intern will be given a certain amount of stipend at various stages of the internship. Additional event and other liability costs will be reimbursed after the submission of the financial application

Application Process and Selection

  • Interested candidates will have to fill-out the complete application form available in www.malaibar.org
  • Once you have successfully submitted your application, we will examine your documents and the shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview on 15th April 2019.
  • The selected candidates will be informed of the decision via email.
  • Selection will be based on merit of the candidates and their performance in the interview.
