Research Centre
Malaibar Foundation seeks to facilitate research initiatives on various areas. By the creation of interdisciplinary units, commonly identified as centres, institutes, programs, or other such terms that are established with the purpose of advancing scholarly activity primarily through collaborative Research, Research Training, Research Dissemination, or Creative endeavours. These Centres are expected to provide unique enquiry-based learning opportunities for students and scholars and to be actively engaged in relevant academic forums and community outreach. They will also involve in activities beyond the scope of single disciplines and promote interdisciplinary work.

Manuscript Studies
Shaikh Shaliyathi Centre for Early Manuscript Studies is a Research centre that is formed with a purpose of giving importance to the collection, preservation and digitalisation of early manuscripts of Islam and in distributing these knowledge to different networks and streams. Setting a manuscript collection centre, conduct regular seminars, workshops, lectures and exhibitions of manuscripts are also some objectives of this Centre.
Indian Ocean Studies
Shaikh Zainudheen Makhdoom Centre for Indian Ocean Studies is one of the research unit to conduct various studies and research projects. It will be functioning in collaboration with major University departments around the world, that conducts research about Malabar Muslims.
The objective of this research Centre is to collect major works and manuscripts related to Malabar Muslims and their heritage, study about Muslim propagation in the Indian ocean region and also about the contribution of Shaikh Zainudheen Makhdoom in Islamic Knowledge tradition. To conduct major research projects on Islam in Indian ocean region and regular workshops and seminars for the research scholars are also the other objectives of this Centre
